Carl is Professor Emeritus at Birmingham University and has written a regular history column in the Express and Star. He is perhaps best known for his BBC radio WM show, which ran for 19 years. He is one of the leading authorities on Birmingham and West Midlands history.

The Wolverhampton Lamp

The Wolverhampton Society produces a yearly publication, The Wolverhampton Lamp. Established in 2017, it showcases the work of local author’s in a yearly magazine. It is available to purchase and members get a copy for free with membership.
